What is the Enterprise Content Library?
The goal of Enterprise Content Library is to introduce Information Builders customers and employees to a powerful search tool that efficiently streamlines and delivers information. ECL acts as a single point of access to a multitude of Information Builders content collections. The strength of ECL is rooted in the flexibility of XML. Users can control what they see, how it’s displayed, and can sort it on the fly - all while drawing data from massive content collections.
Why did Information Builders decide to create ECL?
Customer feedback consistently noted the need for a streamlined search function with the ability to access the wealth of Information Builders knowledge from a single place. With the development of Magnify, we had the tool necessary to create that application, and ECL was born.
How does ECL work?
ECL uses Lucene technology, an open source information retrieval library, and Magnify, a search navigation tool that dynamically categorizes search results.
